The Relevant Elephant
I wear four stories around my neck.
Embellished and cherished.
The Relevant Elephant is a favourite. Taught to me in metaphor over 20 years ago, fresh into teaching.
It wakes and shakes.
It’s not always their first choice though, the Wolf and the Goats challenges the top position.
The children come on a journey with me, away from the curriculum, off-target, and SATs scores.
‘Jane we love your stories, when are you coming back again?’ the Teaching Assistants enquire.
‘What’s inside the What Box Mrs Tyson?’ ask the children.
‘Just Imagine’
The photo of the elephant above, was shot when we went on our two year family adventure to Tanzania. Paul got involved with elephant poaching stories for the news. A friend was assassinated.
That’s another story.
Because everyone has one.
