Preloved? Did I ever truly love the clothes I’ve finally gotten around to posting on “Vinted”.

I think I did when I brought them!

Vinted, the rapidly growing online marketplace for second-hand fashion, has garnered a massive global user base of over 45 million members, spanning across 12 countries, including the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and the United States.

Its appeal is universal, drawing in users from diverse backgrounds, but it particularly resonates with environmentally-conscious millennials and Gen Z, who value sustainable fashion choices.

One of the standout features of Vinted is its simplicity in listing items, and the best part? It’s completely free! With millions of preloved items listed, it’s a treasure trove for fashion enthusiasts and bargain hunters alike.

Vinted’s mobile app, lauded for its user-friendly interface, has played a pivotal role in its success. The platform promotes sustainability, with one item’s resale on Vinted saving an average of 14 kg of CO2 emissions compared to buying new, aligning with the values of eco-conscious consumers.

Vinted provides secure payment options, charges a small fee on successful sales, and ensures trust and safety through identity verification and user reviews. Its integrated shipping options simplify the process of sending items to buyers, even across borders. Plus, Vinted’s community and social elements, like discussions, style inspiration, and challenges, foster a sense of belonging and camaraderie among its users. Selling on Vinted offers a world of opportunity for those looking to clean out their closets while making some extra cash in an eco-friendly and user-friendly environment.

Here are 8 things I’ve learned so far, or a “How I” list:

1. Take clear pics against a simple backdrop (I used my cupboard for now).

2. Add a clear and accurate description about the item- some of them are bobbled, and well worn so I’ve written this and shown it in the pics.

3. Keep the boxes and bags that you get deliveries in to use as packaging (note to self).

4. You don’t have to print off labels, this can be done at the delivery and collection station — we have a nearby off-license offering this service for “Evri”.

5. Have one of those de-fluffing sticky roller devices closeby, a clothes brush or cellotape and a measuring tape.

6. Post in batches so it’s not so overwhelming getting started.

7. Take pics, and post when it is convenient with the descriptions — I took the pics in the daylight and then posted them that evening.

8. A nice handwritten thank you inserted into the package, goes down well when you eventually post the item(s).

So far, I’ve had a few messages about this denim shirt dress, so another tip is to respond to people and be a friendly and trusted seller.

Perhaps you have a top tip to share?
